It is a very exciting time here at HIP HQ, since we have recently teamed up with Joelle Caputa at Audio Crush PR to continue growing HIP Music Promo, the sister company to HIP Video Promo. Many times over the past couple years our music video promotion clients have asked us if we can help them in other areas of music promotion, including writing bios, producing EPKs, online and viral marketing, and PR. Now that Joelle is part of our championship team, we are confident that our new and novel approach to music marketing can be ramped up to full force. It may seem a bit unconventional, but our plan moving forward is to service the folks in the music industry that help get us the word out about our clients project with a complete package utilizing all the skills and expertise our collective team can bring to the table.

    Our approach will center around what we consider to be the four most important aspects of music promotion; compelling music, the written word, thoughtful graphic design and a visual presentation that allows the viewer to become intimately familiar with the band or artist we are championing.        An absolute requirement for any band or artist is a concise and informative one page bio. It tells people who you are, what you're about, where you've been and with whom. It needs to contain certain vital information, but it doesn't need to be dull. EPK (HIP Clip)

      An Electronic Press Kit can be a great asset. Why go electronic? In this digital age, it's all about speed and convenience . An EPK can convey all of the information found in a traditional Press Kit, and more, in a fraction of the time. It can be sent physically to anyone you like as a DVD, or accessed on the Web as a link from your own site, from our site, or via e-mail or wireless. HIP has all the resources you'll need to put together an eye-catching and effective EPK, including video shooting and editing (including two remote shoots), copy writing and graphics, dubbing and burning. These are original productions shot and edited by using a Q&A session, live footage, and other footage we will obtain, and they represent a unique opportunity to reach out to fans and potential fans. Band Magazine

     You spend all your time and energy creating and recording music that best represents you as an artist. Therefore, it's not only natural-but NECESSARY- that you have a polished press kit.  While pitching your music to press, record label A&R, radio stations, booking agents, etc. you need to make yourself stand out from the pack. What better way to do that than through a full-color, glossy magazine (8 pages) all about YOUR band?  There isn't one! It is a unique and exciting form of presentation of your work and is a terrific way to tap into the irreplaceable excitement of holding a tangible product in your hands. We can all remember rushing to the music store to be the first to pick up your favorite artist’s new album, and the thrill of victory that is felt when you finally hold it in your hands, and we believe that is a feeling that can’t be replaced. Press

     We have a full list of press of national and regional press, as well as Web zines and blogs that we will tap into to create a custom list of the most impactful and appropriate outlets for which to service your music. Our presentation to these outlets is always in the required format (whether they require hard copies or an online EPK), and this will include full follow up with these outlets and reporting of all confirmed reviews, features, placements, etc. on a bi-weekly basis. If your artist is touring, we will work with you to choose the regional outlets that coincide with the routing so that collectively we can make the effort to “tie it all together."

           One of the best ways to expose your music to an unsuspecting public is to have your songs placed in television programs and motion pictures. Though many of the music supervisors we are friendly with don’t offer any money for placement (besides royalties), this is an excellent way to expose your music to millions of potential fans and CD customers. Here at HIP we will work diligently to secure placement or your music in as many TV programs and feature films as we can. When possible, our goal will be to negotiate payment for your music placement in the more high profile placements we secure.

           Web blogs have become a huge new conduit to get the word out about your band and your music. Many of the top music industry movers and shakers, not to mention tastemakers and music fan alike look to the web blogs to get the straight scoop of what’s bubbling under or just below the radar of the current American consciousness. The best part about servicing these folks is that we don’t have to send them full packages, but rather they can be serviced via digital means, so that we can keep your costs down. 
 

College Radio Promotion
