Classic retro pop sounds and sing-along love songs have projected April
Smith and her band, The Great Picture Show, into the spotlight well beyond
their local New Jersey stomping grounds. While her tunes were being featured
on MTV shows (The Hills &Newport Harbor), local radio and personal MySpace
pages across all borders, Smith was bringing them to life on stage during a
Jeff Buckley tribute show in Chicago and nonstop gigs in between. Praise
followed her wherever she went.
Upstage Magazine hails Smith's voice as one that "made it seem like you
lived a lifetime in a 4 ˝minute song."
Her next stop?
On Thursday, April 10, April Smith and the Great Picture show will be
performing a special 18+ show at Sullivan Hall in New York City.
The Aquarian Weekly says "If you haven't seen this band live, you're missing
the boat kids."
