HOTSPUR Perform Post SXSW Showcase in New York City

It’s pretty rare for a band to write two top-ten worthy hits on their debut four song EP, especially when the band has been together for less than a year.  But Hotspur have already got the power ballad (“Have You Seen This Girl”) and the hook-heavy-erotic-stuck-in-your-head-sing-along song (“She’s Got to Go”) that can break them into the big time. And labels are starting to take notice.

On March 29, Hotspur will hit New York City (on the way home from showcasing at SXSW) for a special gig at The Knitting Factory. You are cordially invited to attend and see what all the hype is about.

These Maryland natives have made a name for themselves along the Washington DC area.  The band is consistently on the Top 3 Unsigned DC bands on MYspace.com and frequently top the list in views and plays. The Washington Post hailed Hotspur as “one of the best new bands out there.”

The band’s self-titled EP is currently in all locations of Record & Tape Traders and will soon be in select Maryland and Philadelphia Tower Records locations.  Over 200 college radio stations nationwide have already begun playing Hotspur, and the band ranked #1 on CollegeMusicRadio.com for six consecutive weeks.

MTV has licensed Hotspur music for several shows including Super Sweet 16 and Made for use in 2006. A follow-up EP is expected this summer and was recorded in December down in Nashville with producer's Chris Grainger & Russ Long (Switchfoot, Wilco, Sixpence None the Richer).
