 Perfuma Releases Cancer Inspired Song as Free Download Perfuma has released the long-anticipated first single from its forthcoming album, SAVE YOURSELF. The song, titled, "Oh Caroline," can be downloaded along with another new track, "High as a Mountain," on PureVolume, where Perfuma is a featured Pick. "‘Oh Caroline’ is a song I wrote for a girl I was dating who has cancer,” reveals vocalist Adam Bird. “They’d treat her and it just kept coming back. I felt awful and I wrote it as a little poem for her.” He elaborates, “Her name isn’t Caroline, by the way. I just changed her name in the song because she has the same name as one of my aunts and I thought that would be weird!" While the indie rock style Perfuma regulars know and love was showcased a month ago through three teaser tracks on the band’s MySpace page, Perfuma also ventures in 60s pop, stoner rock and shoe gazing guitar orchestras on SAVE YOURSELF. There really is something for everyone. "Recording this album was a very fun experience,” says vocalist Adam Bird of the New Jersey-based band’s first full-length. “We tried lot of new things and had a great time doing them. The atmosphere was very relaxed the whole time and everyone got along great, which I feel is very important when making music." Perfuma has yet to decide a final release date; however advance copies are available for review.
